Portobello Road Market is one of London’s most famous street markets, and it’s a short walk from your front door. The surrounding streets have independent cafes, vintage shops and a proper arts scene. Ladbroke Grove station on the Hammersmith & City and Circle lines is close by, running through Paddington, Baker Street and King’s Cross. Notting Hill is the broader neighbourhood, known for its colourful terraces, the annual Carnival in August, and a character that’s hard to find anywhere else in the city. Imperial College, the Royal College of Art and University of Westminster are all within commuting distance.
